ABEL® Workshops for Free Radical Reasearch

As exclusive world-wide manufacturer of the light-emitting probe Pholasin® and ABEL®, Analysis By Emitted Light, Antioxidant and Cell Activation Kits, the company has learned a lot about the needs of scientists and clinicians.

We are aware of the current and growing interest in free radicals from many different fields including: ageing, allergies and food intolerance, Alzheimer’s disease, brain damage, cancer, clinical chemistry, critical care, diabetes, food testing, heart and vascular diseases, inflammation and inflammatory diseases, kidney disease and renal dialysis, materials testing, multiple sclerosis, neonates, obstetrics, pharmaceutical testing, reperfusion injury, respiratory medicine, sickle cell anaemia, sports medicine, surgery, toxicology…

To enable researchers to use our ABEL® kits to solve individual research problems Knight Scientific Limited is running customised hands-on training courses in our laboratory in Plymouth, Devon. While there will of course be some fundamental background into free radicals and the bioluminescence of Pholas dactylus, the source of Pholasin®, the object of the sessions is to give researchers an opportunity to try the various assays on a range of luminometers and to obtain help to design protocols to suit their own individual research needs. Participants will be encouraged make prior arrangements to use their own samples on the course.

The courses, to be held in Plymouth, on the South West coast of England, will be of two or three days duration and will cost £350 per day. This cost is inclusive of reagents and use of equipment. Anyone attending the course will be eligible for 25% discount on purchases of ABEL® reagents for 12 months.

If you would like to see how the ABEL® kits and these customised workshops could help your research please contact Dr Jan Knight or complete the contact form with details of your request.
