Antioxidant Capacity Testing
At KSL we have invented a battery of tests to quantify the antioxidant capacity of cosmetics and nutraceuticals.
Using Analysis By Emitted Light (ABEL®) technology, KSL can measure the antioxidant and possible pro-oxidant capacity of your raw materials, ingredients and finished products, whether they are solids or liquids, natural or synthetic, water or oil soluble, even emulsions. You will have complete confidence in the highly reproducible scores, expressed as relative antioxidant capacity per mg (ABEL-RAC™). These scores can be used directly in formulation development, quality control and quality assurance - and on the labels of your finished products!
- Quantify antioxidant/pro-oxidant activity of raw materials, ingredients & finished products using a range of free radical challenges
- Identify possible synergy between ingredients
- Optimise formulations
- Monitor processes during manufacture
- Confirm batch to batch uniformity
- Quantify shelf life of ingredients and products
Some leading cosmetics and nutraceuticals companies – and their suppliers – routinely use our tests for QA, QC and development, while others rely on us to do the tests for them.
Which do you prefer ?
If you want to do it yourself then consider the hire of a luminometer (if you don’t already have one) and a ABEL® antioxidant test kit for your trials.
