These unique chemiluminescent assays require only 1mL of whole blood or a few thousand isolated cells and are complete well within 10 minutes.
The kit contains the unique protein Pholasin® that emits light in the presence of free radicals produced upon activation of cells by the cell stimulants PMA and fMLP included in the kit. Measures activation of NADPH oxidase via receptor stimulation and/or direct activation of PKC. Pholasin® (which does not by itself react with hydrogen peroxide) reacts with myeloperoxidase and hydrogen peroxide to produce intense luminescence.
